Don’t Believe It by Charlie Donlea

This was my first book by Charlie Donlea and I was not disappointed. I love his style of writing and how be makes you feel connected to each of the characters.

This book focuses around the true crime documentary, The Girl of Sugar Beach, which questions whether Grace Sebold killed her boyfriend or if she the victim of poor quality police work. In prison for 10 years, Grace reaches out to Sidney Ryan, a filmmaker who is working on the documentary. Grace hopes Sidney can help prove her innocence. As Sidney begins researching she uncovers evidence overlooked during the original investigation and the case is reopened.

After reading so many thrillers I always think I can guess the ending, however I was not expecting where this book was going and I was shocked by the ending!

What Loved: I love how the story was based on a true crime documentary; it included detectives, coroners, and all things involved in an ongoing investigation of a popular crime case.

What I Didn’t Love: without giving away plot twists, I didn’t love how the author wrote the storyline of one of the characters

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

This book is for the one who: loves a good thriller, with plot twisting endings
