That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally

The story follows two narratives, Mary and Drew.

A girl wakes up on the side of the road with no memory of how she got there. She is taken to the police station where a man arrives, stating that she’s his daughter, Mary, and he has been searching for her for hours. He verifies she is his daughter by showing the police photos, her birth certificate, and her school ID and takes her home.

She does not recognize him, but she doesn’t recognize anyone or remember anything. Soon she starts to wonder if he is really her father and if she is in danger.

The other storyline follows a young man named Drew who is being accused of killing his girlfriend, Lola. Lola has been missing and Drew sets out to find her and prove his innocence.

What I Loved: I love how the author weaves together the two perspectives of Mary and Drew to tell the story, it keeps you engaged! I always love a dual-perspective novel!

What I Didn’t Love: The first half of the book seemed really predictable, however there were still shocking twists and turns at the end. This book was gutting at times and the way the author wrote, you could feel the pain the characters endured so vividly.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

This book is for the one who: enjoys a tense, fast-paced, Young Adult thriller, with good character development and a shocking ending!
