Summer Reading Recap and Ratings

Another summer has come and gone and this one was filled with lots of reading; by the pool, on vacation, sitting out on our balcony at night listening to the crickets, and on long road trips. I read 34 books this summer; 9 non-fiction and 25 fiction. My favorites were His & Hers by Alice Feeney (fiction) and Come Matter Here by Hannah Brencher (non-fiction)! Below is a short recap and my rating for each of them!

The story covers a true crime documentary, which questions whether Grace Sebold killed her boyfriend or if she is the victim of poor quality police work.

Jack and Grace seem like the perfect couple, but not everything is as perfect as it seems and friends start to wonder what is really going on at home behind closed doors.

The Hotel Nantucket ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After being an abandoned building, a hotel is purchased and renovated by a London billionaire who hires staff members to work together to build back the Hotel Nantucket.

The Teacher ⭐️⭐️⭐️

An easy, quick, and somewhat disturbing, yet page-turning read about a local high school following Eve, the math teacher, and Addie, who is accused of being at the center of a teacher-student scandal.

The author helps the reader understand their feelings using biblical wisdom, stories from her own life, and therapeutic research.

Jinger Duggar, one of the family members of the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting, shares how she began to question the unhealthy teachings of her youth and how she learned to embrace freedom in Christ.

The author encourages readers to be present where you are, to look for the beauty in the mundane, and to take advantage of the life God has designed for you.

A daughter starts to discover some cracks in her mothers past and digs into what she is trying to hide and why.

Rock Paper Scissors ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Adam and Amelia win a weekend away in hopes that it help save their marriage. But instead it leads to uncovering secretes and lies.

Practicing the Way ⭐️⭐️⭐️

An encouragement to follow the way of Jesus to be more like Him in our own lives.
