What If It’s Wonderful? by Nicole Zasowski

Author and family therapist, Nicole Zasowski encourages the reader to see how God is present in both our joy and our pain. She shares stories from her personal life of “no’s,” losses, grief, and disappointment and how she learned to choose joy in the hard times. She encourages the reader to let go of your pessimism and expectations of disappointment and embrace celebration and joy.

What I Loved: the authors words were so relatable, she wrote about how we often imagine the worst case scenario to mentally prepare ourselves and not allow ourselves to get our hopes up. I felt that the author wrote about real feelings that many of us face while also sharing the truth about who God is and how our pessimism decreases our delight in God’s gifts.

What I Didn’t Love: nothing!

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

This book is for the one who: is in the waiting, has experienced a “no” or “not yet,” loss, or grief and has difficulty staying hopeful for the future and struggles with pessimism or negativity, needs a reminder that joy and pain can co-exist
